  5. The Nova Accounting System (NAS) is a collection of modifiable, integrated 4GL
  6. applications consisting of standard accounting modules designed for use by
  7. non-accounting personnel, PO/Inventory, Job Costing, and Job Shop Scheduling
  8. applications for small to medium-sized businesses. Applications are written
  9. with a fourth-generation database that permits a high degree of user
  10. control

  12. Accounts Receivable serves as an easy-to-use front end to GL, eliminating
  13. duplicate data entry, preserving transaction detail, and providing solid audit
  14. trails between AR and the GL Source Journal. AR is a perpetual open invoice
  15. system, and does not require any period closing activities. Therefore,
  16. receivable totals and other AR functions may always be kept current, regardless
  17. of the GL status. AR is designed for use without the need to make debit or
  18. credit entries. Data entry validations prevent out-of-balance entries, check
  19. chart-of-account numbers, and prevent payments from being applied to an
  20. incorrect invoice, allowing use by clerical personnel, with supervisory control
  21. at the GL level.
